64 yrs old and pretty good shape.I had daVinci 3 weeks ago. Walked around an hour after. Home the next day. Catheter was annoying (of course) but other than that napped alot. Walked every day starting with 1/4 mile. Got bored mostly. Catheter out after one week - some dribbling during the day. Lots of kegels. No heavy lifting for another week, yet, but two mile walks are no problem. Look for uro with lots of experience. It seems to me like everyone is jumping on this band wagon; why should they learn on you?

My husband had a robotic prostatectomy, which unfortunately didn't work. I believe surgery can save lives, but it should never be done casually, the doctor has to be certain that this is the best treatment and that it is absolutely necessary. May needless RPs are performed on men. It's hard to comment without your stats. You can look at U. of Maryland Hospital which has a comparison of outcomes for different types of surgery.
