Never heard of that one.
2 :
Nope, that is not true.
3 :
never herad of it

There actually have been several studies which analysed the relation between ejaculation and prostate cancer. Now although the conclusion from these studies indicate that masturbation can reduce prostate cancer, this is on the basis of regular ejaculation and the removal of carcinogens in the prostate gland. As many of these carcinogens are released during ejaculation, the hypothesis is that masturbation can reduce the risks of prostate cancer. As for your question as to how often is regular? According to the study, 4-5 times per week would count as an average number of ejaculations per week.
5 :
NOT HERED THAT ONE
6 :
Yep, according to some scientists. The regular release of old sperm keeps whatever's in the prostate fresh, thus reducing chances of cancer. In the magazine I read, they say regular is once a week. Again, that's just according to some scientists. I'm not sure if it's confirmed already.

any man any age can get prostate cancer....older men are more susceptible because of the greater chance of mutation in the genes..........like many other cancers it is hard to pin point exactly why someone gets cancer........many people believe that masturbation or a full sex life helps to relieve the prostate and help prevent cancer.....
2 :
Well, men get prostrate cancer because they have prostrates and are genetically inclined towards it. (women do not have prostrate glands) It is possible for a teen to get prostrate cancer, but it is also rather unlikely. It generally only affects men who are 40+ years old.

Is this true about prostate cancer

Is this true about prostate cancer?
> > > This is a GUY THING < < < okay here it goes.. Is it true that ejaculation can help prevent prostate cancer? It's said that three times a week is good. Doctors proposed this but it's still not proven up to now. TAKE NOTE: It's not yet proven. :D

2 :
So far, it's worked for me!
3 :
There has been medical research that suggests regular masturbation might lower the risk of prostate cancer. That does not mean it prevents it from occurring but slightly lowers the associated risk. There are other health benefits as well for both sexes, I will post a source.
4 :
I have never heard that when I have heard so many things about this kind of Cancer, but on Answers here there is a Medical section you can ask there. See for yourself.
5 :
There have been several studies that found that frequent ejaculation by men resulted in less chance of prostate cancer at a later age. Prostate problems affect almost all men. Although cancer is only one of the problems, it is the most serious. I think frequent ejaculation, preferably with a partner, is well worth doing as a form of preventative medicine. Also, nothing is ever proven in the medical field. There are just studies that provide risk and probability information. That is, rates of over 21 times a month have been noted as reducing the risk of prostate cancer, but will not prevent cancer entirely.

Prostate cancer and myelom

Prostate cancer and myeloma?
My dad was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in October last year. Last week he was taken ill and took into hospital where we were told he has advanced myeloma. My dad is 79. He needs to have a bone marrow biopsy now, what will his survival rate be with having two cancers to deal with?

I am so sorry, but the median survival for late stage melanoma is 6-7 months. His prostate cancer has little affect on this.

Cancer isn't contagious.
3 :
Cancer is not contagious but the cells can migrate when tissues fluids travel. You might be strong enough to avoid it but you could pass on some of the cells to another man. Also throat cancer can be caused by migrating cells to another person. My opinion but my sister died way too early from cancer.
4 :
its pretty safe never heard someone getting cancer from a person who they had sex in the past?!?
5 :
As said previously, cancer isn't contagious. If you are worried the best advice is to go to your doctor and discuss it. They should put your mind at rest

Side Effects of a Vasectomy- Prostate Cancer , Dementia

Side Effects of a Vasectomy- Prostate Cancer , Dementia...?
Does anyone know the negative side effects of a vasectomy? I have heard that there connections to Prostate Cancer and also links to eventual dementia.

I had a vasectomy 20 years ago. I know a lot of men that have. Not a single one of them have prostate cancer, or anything that can be attributed to having a vasectomy. One in six men, in the USA, will get prostate cancer. The statistic is not any higher for men with vasectomies. Also prostate cancer will take 20 years after it is detectable to kill you. I don’t think it is much of a cause for alarm. Vasectomies get accused of everything from smelly feet, to hair loss. I have even read claims that if a man has a vasectomy his wife is more susceptible to post-partum depression, hair loss, and early metaphase. Ok, folks lets get real. Back in 1989, when I got my vasectomy, I lived in the “bible belt”. Many religious groups protested men getting vasectomies. I was 21, at the time. I was told that I would loose all my hair, become impotent, and look like I am 65, before I am 35. Too bad, for them, none of that happened. I never had children. I am 41, and I often get mistaken for being in my late 20’s. I know several other men, in our “Childfree” group that had vasectomies in their early 20’s. All of us could be mistaken for being 10 years younger than we are. So what is it? Do only young looking men decide not to have children? Do only young looking men decide to get vasectomies after deciding they had enough children? I think not. I would also like to point out that none of the members of our “Childfree” group have dementia. Most of us are in our 50's. I don’t, have dementia, and it happens to run in my family. Now I am wonder who is the latest promoter of such false rumors about vasectomies. Is it the Catholic Church, or LDS, this time.

I got clipped about 8 years ago and have had no adverse side effects. Only good result – NO MORE RUBBERS!

Prostate cancer question please

Prostate cancer question please?
My father who is 78 was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. He had nodules that were biopsied and positive for cancer. The doctor told him that his PSA levels are normal and that it is a slow growing cancer and he will recheck him in 6 months. Should he get another opinion? I would think that the prostate should be removed or radiation seeds implanted?

It would be better if he got another opinion, especially if his PSA levels are 'normal' and yet the biopsy was positive, something isn't just right here. Good luck.
2 :
I would definitely get a second opinion, especially if the biopsy was positive for cancer. The last thing anyone wants is metastasis- that can't be undone. Furthermore, PSA levels are not the be-all-end-all; PSA is just a tumor marker used to help detect cancer. Biopsy is the "gold standard"diagnostic tool and if that indicates cancer, I don't see how that can be disputed, regardless of the PSA level. So as I said, I suggest getting a second opinion to be 100% sure the right decision is made. I wish you all the best and I hope everything turns out well.
3 :
Before going too far with a second opinion I would get the following information and look at the web sites I have provided below. 1) You should get his PSA Level by itself. 2) Based on his PSA level and the biopsy the doctor should have provided him with a Gleason Score. The two combined provide a good indicator. You will also want to have this so you do have a reference point in 6 months to determine change. Also just an FYI if your father was or is on antibiotics prior to the test it will most likely lower his PSA score. I just recently has radical prostate surgery and appear to be cancer free we will know reasonably sure on my next check up. At your father's age it is difficult for me to suggest surgery a lot has to do with his overall health etc. Seed implant may be an alternative depending on if or how much his prostate has enlarged. Up to now I have spent 9 months researching, interviewing, second/third opinions, etc. dealing with this and alternatives until a couple of months ago I finally had to decide on surgery as seeds ended up being ruled out. I hope this helps you get a better understanding because one you have all the information it will help you and others determine the best course of action. I wish you and your family all the best in dealing with this. Good luck
4 :
It never hurts to get a second opinion, but his doctor’s recommendations are appropriate and I doubt another physician would recommend a prostectomy or radiation seeds, maybe a TURP if he is having urinating problems. Why would you want him to go through that when it may never be necessary? Does he have any symptoms? There is nothing unusual about having a positive biopsy and a negative PSA. There are several options for prostate cancer and his doctor should have gone over all of them with your father. Ultimately it is your father’s decision as to how he will be treated.

Why don´t you check out the Budwig protocol. It has helped a lot of people with cancer and other illnesses. It helps, it does no harm. There are also other gentle non-toxic healing methods. Check the Internet. You can start with http://www.budwig-videos.com/ and the discussion. Good luck! Catharina
