Does taking multi-vitamins everyday cause prostate cancer?
my hubby take mutivit. everyday and he said he heard in the news this morning that it actually causes prostate cancer...so dont take it every single day...is that true?

that's stupid. vitamins do little to help and little to harm unless you start taking huge amounts of them, basically they are a waste of money unless you actually have one prescribed to you by a doctor.

They put him in medication. Can anyone tell me about this cancer? Is it very life threatening with his age and stuff?

interesting question. I wonder if Cancer is genetic. but most likely it is caused by environmental conditions. so the sperm should not be affected. This is just a wild guess on my part. But I do know that the Tasmanian Devil is transmitting cancer just from fighting each other. when they bite each other it appears the cancer spreads to the one they attacked

Sperm do not pass through the prostate. It encircles the vas diferens, but is not part of it. You're not in any danger.

The prostate doesn't have anything to do with the production of sperm, so there is no "cancer cells" in the sperm. Even so, cancer is not contageous.

You can't catch cancer from a PCa sufferer. It's simply not contagious. To correct the above answers, the prostate doesn't create the sperm itself, but it does make about 25% of the volume of seminal fluid.

Because the doctors started him on chemo, that is a strong indication that he will survive. It may take a while, and chemo is a very physically demanding thing to go through. Just think about how much you're worried, now think of him. It's going to be hard, but just keep your spirits up and be with him. EDIT: no one can tell if he will be cured. The doctors could determine he was cured and 10 years later it show up again. I'm sorry, but that's generally what happens. But, look up and when he is cured celebrate because he made it!
