Try going to webmd.com. Search for prostate cancer and it will come up with symptoms, treatments, etc. Good luck.
2 :
Prostate Cancer is one of the most common cancers in American men. There are no warning signs of symptoms of early prostate cancer. Once a malignant tumor causes the prostate gland to swell significantly, or once cancer spreads beyond the prostate, the following symptoms may be present: * A frequent need to urinate, especially at night * Difficulty starting or stopping the urinary stream * A weak or interrupted urinary stream * A painful or burning sensation during urination or ejaculation * Blood in urine or semen Symptoms of advanced prostate cancer include: * Dull, incessant deep pain or stiffness in the pelvis, lower back, ribs or upper thighs; arthritic pain in the bones of those areas * Loss of weight and appetite * Fatigue * Nausea * Vomiting There are 4 stages of Prostate Cancer: T1 - Tumor is microscopic and confined to prostate but is undetectable by a digital rectal exam (DRE) or by ultrasound. Usually discovered by PSA tests or biopsies. T2 - Tumor is confined to prostate and can be detected by DRE or ultrasound. T3 / T4 - In stage T3, the cancer has spread to tissue adjacent to the prostate or to the seminal vesicles. In stage T4, tumors have spread to organs near the prostate, such as the bladder. N+ / M+ - Cancer has spread to pelvic lymph nodes (N+) or to lymph nodes, organs, or bones distant from the prostate (M+). Prostate cancer is the most common cancer, other than skin cancers, in American men. It is the second leading cause of cancer death in American men, behind only lung cancer, and accounts for 9% of cancer-related deaths in men. The American Cancer Society estimates that during 2008, about 186,000 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed in the United States. 30% of prostate cancers occur in men under age 65. About 1 man in 6 will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime, but only 1 man in 35 will die of it. More than 2 million men in the United States who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer at some point are still alive today.

Prostate Cancer Bone Metastasis - Testosterone, DHEA Progesterone, Estriol Supplementation

Prostate Cancer Bone Metastasis - Testosterone, DHEA Progesterone, Estriol Supplementation?
There seem to be two views points on Testosterone and DHEA: (a) Testosterstone and DHEA Supplementation can worsen prostate cancer. (b) Testerstone harms only at less less than adequate levels (whose T levels are stuck in the middle - less than nomal but not minimal). Both in very low levels and at high levels these harmones will help in combating cancer. We know that in majority of cases Testosterone blockade helps control the disease. There is some anecdotal (http://www.mercola.com/1998/archive/natural_progesterone2.htm) evidence that Progesterone local application has benefitted advanced prostate metastasis. Has any research been done with Testosterone/DHEA Progesterone supplements on Advanced PCa persons. I am interested to know if anyone with advanced Prostate malignancy or breast malignancy on the bone has tried DHEA and/or Testosterone, Progesterone, Estriol supplementation and has perceived benefits. Accurate info will be of great relevance. Sammy

For a fact, testosterone supplementation will worsen prostate cancer I donĂ¢€™t know if DHEA supplementation or HGH injections will worsen prostate cancer. If anybody knows, I am interested in the answer myself. Please reply to this question. It is a good one. Reply to this posting and to allanbrandt@yahoo.com Androgen depravation using Lupron or castration is first line treatment of prostate cancer if it has spread, even if it has spread to the bone. If that is not enough, sometimes they will add a second line hormonal treatment such as high dose Ketoconazol to quickly lower your testosterone level to almost zero, but monitor weekly for liver damage using high dose Ketoconazol. (I learned this the hard way). Usually there is a response from the above treatments, but only temporarily. Estrogen based treatments such as Megace which contains progesterone, or DES which contains estrogen, are not effective treatments if prostate cancer is already in the bone. Estriol supplementation may be similar. Not effective but cant hurt. Prostate cancer hates all female hormones

Could just be an enlarged prostate, but if your doctor hasn't suggested that, it is time to change doctors. My husband had prostate cancer in 1992, he didn't have any symptons. His doctor found it in a routine exam. Please see another doctor.
2 :
The swollen prostate with all your symptoms does not necessarily mean you have cancer. The blood bothers me though. Please go see a good Urologist. He will do a biopsy on your prostate and will treat the enlarged gland. I have had all your symptoms as do 50% of Men over the age of 50. Check out the blood thing though.
3 :
Try a PETCT scan, could mean some $$$ but would ease your mind.
4 :
If PSA level is normal then it is not a prostate cancer but maybe a kidney or bladder problem

Side effects of Channel TURP - Metastatic Prostate Cancer

Side effects of Channel TURP - Metastatic Prostate Cancer?
My father is 65 and has metastatic prostate cancer. He's taking calutide and zoladex monthly. Due to obstruction in urination for long time, we got his channel TURP surgery done last month. The urine flow was good for about 20 days. After that he felt slight decrease in urine flow. One morning suddenly there was full urine obstruction and we rushed him to hospital and got catheter inserted. Doctor said that his prostate tissues have obstructed the urine channel in just one month which is rather unusual. My question is: - Can cancer tissues grow so fast in just 1 month after channel TURP? Every doctor mentioned it's a relief for atleast few years. - Catheter went inside with lot of difficulty and is not a permanent relief. Should we go for direct insertion of tube in urine bladder? His gleason grade is 9. PSA is under 4 but showed slight increase from 1.96 to 2.4 approx.

1 :
I'm not really sure, but maybe the obstruction could have been caused by scar tissue from the surgery.
2 :
Please see the webpages for more details on Transurethral resection of the prostate. I am 69 years old and taking Alfuzosin hydrochloride (generic name) to shrink prostate gland. In some cases, TURP is not 100% successful and hence a second operation is done to remove the obstructive tissue.

My grandpa has Prostate Cancer

My grandpa has Prostate Cancer?
i was just told that my grandpa has prostate cancer and is getting radiation therapy. i dont know anything about prostate cancer or how deadly it is. my grandpa is very healthy and in great shape. can someone please explain what all this means to me? thank you. so i guess my main question is, is he going to be ok?

Prostate cancer is among the most curable cancers. Since he is gettnig radiation, and not chemo, its at an early stage. His chances of beating this cancer are close to 100%. The overall survival rate on prostate cancer is over 90%. Making it AMONG the most curable cancers. Check it out for yourself before you say my answer is wrong.
2 :
... Well prostate cancer, is the worst according to men, maybe because, you know, they have to finger your butt all the time. And when some gay perverted doctor isn't paying with your rectum, you piss blood when you go to the bathroom. Prostate cancer is due to not having sex, and lack of masturbation. A lot of people are going to give me thumbs down because they'll think this answer is stupid and i'm making fun; expecting a hypocrite "oooh no ur grandpa iz gona b fine" answer, but i'm telling you how it is. Whatever happens though, i wish you, your grandfather and your whole family good luck and all the support I am able to give. Edit: Here's some higlights of the wikipedia prostate cancer page: Symptoms: "prostate cancer does cause symptoms (...) These include frequent urination, increased urination at night, difficulty starting and maintaining a steady stream of urine, blood in the urine, and painful urination (...) prostate cancer may also cause problems with sexual function and performance, such as difficulty achieving erection or painful ejaculation (...) Prostate cancer in the spine can also compress the spinal cord, causing leg weakness and urinary and fecal incontinence" Causes: "Unknown (...) The primary risk factors are age and family history. Prostate cancer is very uncommon in men younger than 45, but becomes more common with advancing age. The average age at the time of diagnosis is 70 (...) Genetic background may contribute to prostate cancer risk, as suggested by associations with race, family, and specific gene variants" Other: "Prostate cancer screening options include the digital rectal exam" --->more on this digital rectal exam: "The digital rectal examination is a relatively simple procedure. The patient undresses, then is placed in a position where the anus is accessible (lying on the side, squatting on the examination table, bent over the examination table, or lying down with feet in stirrups)." To the lady who answered, please go learn about your job, it'll save peoples lives.
3 :
Prostate cancer is neither the most curable and nor is a single thing MightyGrinch said was correct. I have yet to meet a gay urologist and blood in urine has zip to do with the prostate. The older a man is the more likely he will live his normal life span and die of something else with prostate cancer. To give a more detailed answer we need to know his Gleason score, how many cores were positive, his age and PSA.

they said no sergery because he had colan cancer they said he could have radiation or cryotherapy thats were they freeze the prostate has anybody heard of this and how well did it work his colan cancer is gone and his gleason score was 6 with a few 7's he is over 70

2 :
The goal of cryotherapy is to eradicate prostate cancer by freezing the prostate gland. The doctor inserts needles into the prostate gland through the perineum, the area between the scrotum and anus. The needles produce very cold temperatures. Freezing destroys the entire prostate, including any cancerous tissue within it. Although the technique hasn't been around as long as surgery (it began in the 1990s), its success rate is approximately the same as surgery and radiation.
3 :
Yea it is a newer process but it works well...
4 :
Well prostate cancer hits 8 out of 10 men in a life time. Prostate cancer is usually a slow growing cancer unless the Gleason score is high. This score measures how fast the prostate cancer will grow. You did not state if your dad colon cancer is in remission or still active. I do not understand why they will not do surgery on your dad unless he is older than 65 and the Gleason score is low. Radiation therapy daily for 6-8 weeks usually kills or really slows down the cancer but then again it all depends on how advanced the colon cancer is. Radiation sometimes affects the colon area. Cryotherapy can work and studies do show it will slow down the prostate cancer. Have your father ask for a second opinion. And if you can follow up with some more information about your dad. This way you can get more information on his cancer. Also you can go to prostate cancer in the Internet and look up all the different treatments for prostate cancer. Good luck to you. My dad had his prostate removed and is cancer free 2 years later and counting. So I know what you are going threw right now...

Food to cure prostate cancer

food to cure prostate cancer?

Dude, do not screw with herbal remedies for prostrate cancer. It is very curable if treated quickly. I have seen too many patients come in ate up with cancer who could have beaten it early if they would have sought treatment. See a doctor....
2 :
It isnĂ¢€™t possible to cure any kind of cancer by yourself. If it were that simple no one would have cancer as we would know how to cure it. Make your decisions based on the information given to you by your doctor and seek other opinions. You have ample time as prostate cancer is usually slow growing.

4 :
There are no foods or diets that will cure any cancer, I'm sorry. I know how you feel, when I was diagnosed with cancer I was desperate to find an alternative to conventional treatment; there is none. Anyone who tells you you can cure cancer through diet is deluded, or lying, or after your money. Jane Plant has been mentioned; she is a professor of geology, not medicine, and she claims to have cured her breast cancer by excluding dairy products. I remember when I first read her book - I felt smug because I'm a vegan - no animal products at all, so no dairy - and here was another disease my wonderful diet was protecting me from. I was somewhat less smug when I reread it 6 months later, having just been diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. Moreover Prof. Plant does NOT recommend refusing conventional treatment. And in fact she was undergoing a course of chemotherapy when she had her Eureka! moment and stopped eating dairy. She then put her tumour shrinking down to a week without dairy rather than the chemotherapy. I know which I put it down to. If dairy was responsible for breast and prostate cancer, as Plant claims, I'd still have two breasts.

Which is more effective for the early detection of prostate cancer, PSA analysis or rectal exam

Which is more effective for the early detection of prostate cancer, PSA analysis or rectal exam?

Cancer - 4 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
need both...................
2 :
Neither is perfect, so both are used. Even with both, some prostate cancers are missed. Both is better than either one alone.
3 :
It is not a case of only using one method or the other. Both diagnostic tools are appropriate and may be used in conjunction with each other.
4 :
The PSA(prostate specific antigen) test is more effective at signaling doctors to the risk of prostate cancer early. Enlarged levels of the protein that the test detects don't mean cancer is there, just as abnormalities in the digital rectal exam don't mean cancer is there either. Both tests only indicate a risk. A biopsy confirms cancer.

Prostate Cancer poll: Any guys out there having discomfort with magnetic seeds...?
...while having sex? If any men out there with Prostate Cancer (or women of spouses/boyfriends) who has chose radiation brachytherapy (magnetic seeds placed inside the prostate gland) as a treatment to get rid of the cancer please discreetly tell of your experiences within the first 3 months. And what's is next to come. I am livin' & learnin' and it's difficult... especially in the bedroom.

I am the wife of someone who had seeds. He said no pain other than where they poked the wholes, and that went away after a few days. Life is different but not bad. Sex is OK but different. Desire and performance are OK but (ejac, can I say that on Answers) not very satisfying. I hope you have a loving wife! Find a different and pleasing position if your old ones don't work. Make time for sex, don't take it for granted. Know what turns you on. Be selfish if that's what it takes. Incontinence is sometimes a side effect, but no problems in this area, thank goodness. Seeds were the best alternative for us. Quick recovery time, no really bad side effects. At 59, it was better than possibly dying of cancer. GOOD LUCK! and if you do have problems afterwards, every hospital has support groups and individuals you can contact, as well as hospital support people. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it!

Prostate Cancer survival rates

Prostate Cancer survival rates?
I recently learned that my uncle has prostate cancer with a Gleason Score of 8. He was tested to see whether or not the cancer had spread to his bones and as of now it's in his lymph nodes. He's 60 and Cuban, which would make him black, so I don't know if that will give him a lower survival rate compared to a white male. I just want to know what the survival rate is and chances of recovery.

One place to check is the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center website. Select prostate cancer in Treatment Information by Cancer and click go. On the right hand side of the prostate cancer page you will see the Prostate Cancer Prediction Tool. Click on more. It will take you to a page which will give you information about the tool. Then click on Open Calculator. You will choose where in the diagnostic/treatment process your uncle is. That will lead you to an appropriate calculator. You will be asked to fill in your uncle's age, PSA, Gleason score etc. and at the end it will tell you the five and 10-year survival probabilities with each method of treatment. The site also has lots of articles.

I heard that if you ejaculate that it helps guys prevent prostate cancer. Now is that just for oral or any se?
sex, sorry about that. My husband insist that just ORAL sex will prevent it. Not regular sex or anything like that. I can't stand sex that much to begin with let alone the fact that I hate oral sex, so proof would be great! The only reason why I can't stand sex right now is because I had a baby recently so the thought of sex is the least on my mind. Haha --- I like, I just want nothing to do with it right now.
Men's Health - 6 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Any type of ejaculation will produce the benefits. In fact the study linking the reduction in prostate cancer to sex only dealt with masturbation.
2 :
Actually ejaculation has been proven to lower your risk for Prostate Cancer, and they suggest that masturbation is the best way to ensure ejaculation and easily available, so tell him ,he can go on-line look at porn and jack off and leave you the hell alone, why don't you like sex ? you needed to hook up with a guy like me that loves to make women climax. Here's a link to the article on masturbation and prostrate cancer prevention below.
3 :
It it true that regular ejaculation (at least 20 times monthly) will reduce the risk by around 30%. It in no way means that if you ejaculate that much, you won't have ever have prostate cancer. Now apparently your husband is emotionally blackmailing you to perform oral sex on him. For the body, ejaculation, means ejaculation, doesn't actually matter whether it has been triggered by oral or vaginal sex, or masturbation. What counts is that the man ejaculates frequently, be it thru masturbation, penetrative sex or oral sex.
4 :
that is just your husbands love or oral talking,,thats not true. its any form of sex..
5 :
It is very healthy for men to consistently ejaculate by any method (sex, masturbation, wet dream) and for many reasons besides prostate health. I think he is just trying to get you to do oral. Although he shouldn't lie to you like this I believe that you need some help about not liking sex or performing it for your husband. It is your duty as a wife to offer it to him as long as it is reasonable (maybe at least 2-3 times a week). Also, don't get upset (like some wives do) if he does masturbate since it is healthier for him, and because you don't like to "give it up" enough.
6 :
You can't stand sex to begin with? Why on Earth did you get married in the first place? It isn't a requirement that people like sex, there are indeed people who don't want sex at all, both men and women. I'm not trying to put you down for not enjoying sex, that would be unfair, but you entered into a marriage, and sex is a part of that relationship, so you do have some sort of responsibility to your husband, but it's between the two of you how you work things out. Regular ejaculations are necessary for prostate health, but how these are achieved are irrelevant, whether oral, vaginal or even masturbation. I can't give you proof, as I don't know where the studies originated.

From what I understand there is less damage to healthy tussue with proton. Ask to speak to the Health Physicist or Radiation Safety Officer about your concerns.
2 :
My father had radioactive "seeds" implanted. These give low dose, continuous radiation treatment. Just another option for your consideration.
3 :
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2005 and had proton radiaton treatment for it at Loma Linda Universtiy Medical Center in Loma Linda California. I was extremely pleased with it... Personally, after having proton radiation, I would not consider having any other kind of treatment for Prostate cancer. Proton Radiation has little to no side effects and approximately a 90% cure rate.. Approximately 90% of the treatment energy of proton radiation is delivered at exactly the place needing treatment therefore surrounding body tissue and organs are not damanged as they are with conventional radiation.. This is the reason there are little or no side effects.. I was not sick or even felt bad one single day during or after my treatments. My PSA was 4.5 and the Gleason was 6. My PSA is now .1 , thats point one... It was like I had a nice vacation in southern california while being treated and am cured.. I have absolutely no side effects of any kind ...Its like I never had cancer.. There is a website called Proton Bob that tells about prostate cancer and proton radiadiation.. if you go to the website, be sure and read the Patient Testimonial sectioin and you will see that any one who has ever had proton radiation treatments for prostate cancer is as sold on it as I am.. Also, there is a book recently out called YOU CAN BEAT PROSTATE CANCER, written by Robert J. Marckini, a prostate cancer survivor . It tells all about prostate cancer and all of the various types of treatments available..plus it gives the pros and cons and side effects of each kind of treatment.. Any one with prostate problems should read the book .. It is great.. It can be purchased at barnes and nobles and other book stores or it can be purchased on line at the Proton Bob website... I hope this helps.. but again.. I would not even consider any other kind of treatment. All I can tell you about Proton Radiation from my experience is GOOD. If you have any questions about my experience with prostate cancer or proton radiation, feel free to email me here at yahoo answers.. or I will be glad to answer any questions on the phone.. I just hate to see some one take one of the other kind of treatments when there is such an easy and successful treatment available with no side effects.. Also when I was getting my treatments, I met several men who had radical surgery,or the implants or who had taken lupron for several years and their particular treatment had not worked and they were there having proton radiation.. every single one of them that I met were wishing they had known about proton radiation before they had the treatment that they had.. Its the best!!!!!!!! as far as Im concerned.. One other thing, if you would like the names of other former Proton Radiation patients in your area, I will be glad to furnish them to you, or Im sure you can call the Proton Radiation Department at Loma Linda Universtiy Medical Center and they will furnish you some names .. most of us are anxious to tell others about the treatment... I am in Texas.. MD Anderson in Houston now offers Proton Radiatoin due to Loma Lindas great success over the last 17 years.. however when I had my prostate cancer MD Anderson did not have it available so I went to Loma Linda..

There's no proof of a correlation between sex and prostate cancer, unless you're sleeping with someone who has a retroviral STD, which could potentially induce prostate cancer via oncogene activation. Otherwise, it'd probably give you high blood pressure and a lot of stories to tell your children.
2 :
Not at all. Enjoy having sex. It doesn't cause cancer! Unless you contract certain STIs from it.
3 :
no the more sex you have the less chance you have of getting prostate cancer
4 :
Roger is correct. Having regular sex actually decreases your chances for getting prostate cancer, although the studies conducted probably didn't engage as often as you're suggesting. It's in the years after a man is no longer sexually active that the chances begin to rise. Speaking of rise, you keep having fun, my wife is calling me...

Masturbation is not a sin, it's not perversion, it doesn't cause blindness, and it won't kill puppies or bunnies. But don't masturbate prone (face down - like humping the bed) if you're male. It can cause problems with intercourse and even be physically harmful.
12 :
yes it is a sin it is not the cure for prostate cancer
13 :
not a sin. if it wasn't done there'd be alot more stressed out and frustrated people in the world
14 :
Depends if you are aiming at someones prostate.
15 :
what if i don't have a prostate?
16 :
Its perfectly natural...Get some jergens and start jerkins
17 :
Go ahead make excuses...if you have an itch, scratch it!
18 :
lol well obviously if your gona masturbate like that Professor cold heart u can cause harm
19 :
Oh dear I'm going to hell and I don't even have a prostate..Help!!!
20 :
What is God's will. Think what does God want, not what's the internet's opinions. Does God want you to die? Masturbation is wrong yes, but it would be more wrong to let yourself die, to give up because, of a minor sin that will be forgiven. God knows your intent and I'm sure He has noticed your hesitation. It is good. Go save your life, I didn't even know that prevented cancer.
21 :
how is masturbation a sin? FFS
22 :
Never on a sunday and you'll be fine. You can only go blind if you squirt into your/her eyeball. Keep in mind that you may walk with a limp afterward.
23 :
It destroys body and consciousness. Prostate cancer can appear from eating chemical food, drinking alcohol, smocking, living in megalopolis...
24 :
I don't know.
25 :
spilling your seed is a sin. so, either make sure someone is there to...uh, collect it or be careful where it lands.
26 :
If you do it one more time, you hand will fall off (I am so bound to hell)

If a man has prostate cancer , do his sperms have cancer cells

if a man has prostate cancer , do his sperms have cancer cells?
If a man has prostate cancer, after making love with his wife , his sperms are already in his wife's body, will his wife get cancer also?
Cancer - 4 Answers

1 :
interesting question. I wonder if Cancer is genetic. but most likely it is caused by environmental conditions. so the sperm should not be affected. This is just a wild guess on my part. But I do know that the Tasmanian Devil is transmitting cancer just from fighting each other. when they bite each other it appears the cancer spreads to the one they attacked
2 :
Sperm do not pass through the prostate. It encircles the vas diferens, but is not part of it. You're not in any danger.
3 :
The prostate doesn't have anything to do with the production of sperm, so there is no "cancer cells" in the sperm. Even so, cancer is not contageous.
4 :
You can't catch cancer from a PCa sufferer. It's simply not contagious. To correct the above answers, the prostate doesn't create the sperm itself, but it does make about 25% of the volume of seminal fluid.

My Brother was diagnosedwith prostate cancer he has started Chemotherapy he is 46

My Brother was diagnosedwith prostate cancer he has started Chemotherapy he is 46?
He is 46 it spread he has started chemo. will he be cured
Cancer - 2 Answers

So, your question is?
2 :
Because the doctors started him on chemo, that is a strong indication that he will survive. It may take a while, and chemo is a very physically demanding thing to go through. Just think about how much you're worried, now think of him. It's going to be hard, but just keep your spirits up and be with him. EDIT: no one can tell if he will be cured. The doctors could determine he was cured and 10 years later it show up again. I'm sorry, but that's generally what happens. But, look up and when he is cured celebrate because he made it!

Is anyone surprised that conservative talking head/racist don imus has prostate cancer

Is anyone surprised that conservative talking head/racist don imus has prostate cancer?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090316/ap_on_en_ot/people_imus_cancer " How can you wish cancer on someome?" I didn't. Where did you get that?
Politics - 24 Answers

1 :
Why, does being a blowhard cause cancer?
2 :
Yeah,,,,about as suprising as Ted Kennedy having Brain Cancer. Because I always figured Teddy had no brains.
3 :
That causes cancer?
4 :
Imus is an Independent. He's criticized both parties. And I don't wish cancer on anyone. Let's hope you and your family stay healthy. Including bigot Obama.
5 :
Nothing like compassion for your fellow man Spoken like a true "compassionate" liberal
6 :
What a stupid question.
7 :
The Democrats probably infected him with it when he had to meet Sharpton to apoligize for his "racist" comments. Much like how the Russians killed that spy.
8 :
Yes we can!
9 :
Conservative? Since when. Why does he support Democrats for President?
10 :
No more surprised than womanizing, lying, self righteous, socialist, elitist Ted Kennedy having brain cancer.
11 :
If he has cancer because he is a racist, why doesn't everyone in Obama's church have cancer ? Or is it only white racists that get cancer ?
12 :
Are you saying you are glad that he has cancer? If you are, that is very hateful to wish that on anyone. Would you want someone to expect that to happen to you.
13 :
Much as I dislike Imus, what does that have to do with prostate cancer?
14 :
Don Imus is anything but a conservative. Additionally, he has done nothing to show that he is racist, although he very well may be. How can you wish cancer on someome?
15 :
That's the first time I've heard anyone labeling Imus a Conservative.
16 :
I'd be surprised if a sentient being could be found who thinks Imus is conservative.
17 :
Did he catch it from saying, "Nappy headed hoe's"?
18 :
No, I didnt know cancer had political boundaries... but, lets hope Obama pulls thru and keeps his promise about how he's going to cure cancer 'in our time'..
19 :
I don't like the man, but I would never relish in someone else unfortunate circumstances!
20 :
No, what's so unbelievable about it! He's dying soon and he knows it so he is trying to make a statement to be remembered by! Butt hole!
21 :
Shh! Be quiet your ignorance is showing. You libs and your compassion are really quite heartwarming
22 :
Imus is a liberal, not a conservative. BTW: I thought liberals were claiming to be compassionate people. I don't wish cancer on anyone.
23 :
Thats what he gets, Karma is such a bad bitch..ill celebrate when he dies!!!
24 :
Someday someone will figure it out Evil things happen to evil people Some call it karma I have seen cancer kill a lot of people But the people i saw dying from it were Well Just not very nice people Very Greedy for the Most part

I have a small pebble sized lump (or tumor) in one of my testicules, that's prostate cancer aint it

I have a small pebble sized lump (or tumor) in one of my testicules, that's prostate cancer aint it?
If it's NOT Prostate Cancer,...then What in the world could it be?
Cancer - 7 Answers

1 :
no it is prb not prosate cancer since you can see or feel it from the out side they usally have to put fingers in the bottom to feel the prosate however it should be checked out since it could be a tumor, cyst, or nothing all lumps, bumps and knots should be checked out by a doctor
2 :
Nope!! Maybe testes cancer Go see doc. for the LOG!!!!!!
3 :
Nope, not prostate cancer. Your prostate is inside. It might be testicular cancer. It is most common in men in their 20s. It also might be nothing at all. If it is cancer, then it is important to have it treated ASAP. Time to call your doctor.
4 :
It could be an inclusive cyst (this is where a little bit of skin or something gets stuck to a pore and then gets irritated. It gets infected and turns into something like a zit, but it has this little hard thing inside, which is the little bit of skin which now has gunk all over it which has hardened). Or it could be an ingrown hair. Or any numger of things. Go to the doctor immediately and get a professional opinion. Even if it is testicular cancer, your chances of beating it are great if you just hurry up and get treatment.
5 :
I had the same issue, you need to go to the doctor. My doctor said that for, it could just be inflamed veins; isnt a problem and will go away on its own it COULD be cancer but go talk to your doctor
6 :
No prostate cancer is not a possibility but testicular cancer is, especially if you are under 30. I would get to a doctor straight away. If you examine your testicles between your thumb and forefinger and it feels awkward it is vital to seek medical assistance immediately. One tip is to ensure that you do this in a warm bath as the skin will soften and it will be easier to examine yourself properly. Here is a useful website with advice from fellas who have had testicular cancer and recovered from it as well as advice as to how to check yourself properly. All the best, hope it turns out ok. G
7 :
get checked for epididymitis it is an infection in the epididymis of the testicle usually caused by a hernia

What does prostate cancer feel like

What does prostate cancer feel like?
I mean just in terms of general discomfort... not involving sticking hands up butts and feeling around. See... I've got this interesting pain just a tiny bit northward of my groinal parts.... a rather inexplicable and temporary pain, but uncomfortable in an amusing sort of way regardless. I know my family are rather prone to cancer... my mother's father and my own father both having died of it... and since one in three people die of cancer at some point, I wouldn't be surprised if I'd go the same way (unless I voluntarily end myself before that). I'm just wondering if pains in that region could indicate cancer at all or whether its just something else. It didn't go away when I went for a p!ss... so its not bladder issues, I imagine... Oh.... and no... I'm not going to see a doctor. If it is cancer, I fully intend to just suffer it out to whatever end it may bring. [Note to theists: life is not sacred... its an accident, and is fundamentally worthless, including mine.] [Response to first answer]: I could counter your question by asking "Why not bother?" ... I just want to know... thats all. I suppose for the same reason you might want to know what your brother's girlfriend is like, assuming you have a brother with a girlfriend. Its just curiosity... plain and simple. [Note to Dogzilla]: Pain for the most part is just a random sensation to me. I have been adapting to deconnect it from any emotional triggers... and so I don't mind it any more. However, it is safe to say that having doctors fiddling with my parts would make me psychologically uncomfortable. As such the physical pain is generally the lesser of two evils (except when its particularly extreme, since the emotion-disconnection process isn't perfected yet). One might say I am taking the path to Nihilistic enlightenment..... or resolution of the self.

prostate cancer is not generally uncomfortable...which is why it usually progresses quite a ways before anything is noticed at all, and then it is usually just something like a slow urinary stream, not pain. And, if you truly think life is worthless, why bother to ask?
2 :
You probably wouldn't feel it at all if it was cancer. It sounds more like prostatis to me. It's totally curable with antibiotics....special ones for the prostate. Why not go to the doc and get rid of the discomfort....it's only going to get worse if you don't. PS...In reading your profile statment, you sound a lot like me...with many of the same beliefs and feelings.
3 :
well, even if you DO see a doctor, it's not like he can force you to receive treatment. i agree with you on the accidental, futile nature of life, but i figure, if i'm alive now, i might as well enjoy it as much as possible and have as fun and fulfilling a life as possible. so if i were you, i'd go to the doctor. if it was something easily treatable that wouldn't infringe on my life (such as a daily pill or something), i'd take the treatment. if i found out it was cancer, i'd just refuse treatment and enjoy the remainder of my life as much as possible. i'm sure you agree when i say i'd rather have 6 months of good, functional living and then die, as opposed to spending 5 years on chemo, and finally dying miserably. oh, and to really answer your question, i'm sorry, i have no idea what prostate cancer feels like, though i hear that since it causes your prostate to swell, it usually causes difficulty urinating, very frequent urinating, or painful urinating.
4 :
Not sure, but new treatments are comming.... US scientists crack entire genetic code of breast and colon cancers Research on cancer and the genetic code looks like it may at long last produce real breakthroughs For more info, visit: http://www.librarynews.info/ http://www.medical-research-study-directory.info/medical-research-study-directory/ http://www.medical-research-study-directory.info/ http://www.lasik-surgery-san-diego.info/ http://www.san-diego-dentist.us http://www.san-diego-plastic-surgery-cosmetic-surgery-doctors.us/ http://www.acne-treatment-medicine-1.info/
5 :
I think some of the signs of prostate cancer can be an elevated PSA and urinary problems. If you haven't had any trauma to the area recently, perhaps it could be a hernia. I truely hope you will see a doctor. These days prostate cancer is very treatable if caught early enough.

Prostate cancer seed implants

prostate cancer seed implants?
When you have prostate cancer and they implant the radioactive seeds into your prostate .Are the seeds a danger to anyone else such as holding a young child on your lap can the radiation affect the child in anyway. My brother is trying to make his mind up about his treatment and he has grand children he is concerned that the radiation could harm them.any info would be appreciated.
Cancer - 4 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
he needs to discuss his possible treatments and side effects with his Oncologist
2 :
well thats a question he should ask the DOCTOR, not people who could have absolutely NO CLUE what they are talking about!!!
3 :
Yes. The doctor will tell him that he cannot have small children on his lap. He needs to be a few feet (6) away from small children. Usually after 2 weeks, it is alright to be in the same room as them. Depending upon his size and the radioactive seeds that they implant, it could be up to a month or so until they can sit on his lap again.
4 :
I dont know about the danger you ask about, but I have known a couple of people who had them and ended up losing control of their bowels.. a really bad deal.. I had Prostate Cancer in 2005 and am doing great.. I had Proton Radiation at Loma Linda Universty Medical Center in Loma Linda California. I think Proton Radiation is by far the best treatment for prostate cancer today.. It has little to no side effects and about a 90% cure rate. The other treatments all have some really bad side effects during and after treatments. Proton Radiation is very different from conventional radiation in that approximately 85-90% of the treatment energy is released exactly at the point being treated... Therefore, other body tissue and organs are not effected as they are with conventional radiation which is not concentrated.. since the proton radiation doesnt damage the other organs or tissues.. you have no side effects... There is a new book just out written by Robert J Marckini, a prostate cancer survivior called YOU CAN BEAT PROSTATE CANCER. The book is great. It tells about prostate cancer and then explains all of the various types of treatments available giving the side effects and pros and cons of each treatment.. any one with Prostate Cancer should have the book.. It can be purchased at Barnes and Noble and ebay im sure.. some other places too. There is a website called PROTON BOB.... (bob stands for brotherhood of the balloon it is part of the treatment) Anyway the website tells about prostate cancer and Proton Radiation.. you and your brother should read the website.. If you do be sure and read the Patient Testimonial section .. it is former Proton Radiation patients.. and we are all 100% sold on proton radiation.. Its a no brainer choice if you check all the options.. It has little to no side effects and a 90% cure rate..I was not sick one singe day during or after my treatments.. It was like a being on a vacation... There are now 4-5 places offering proton radiation,..Loma Linda University started it about 17 years ago.. and due to their great success with the program, MD Anderson in Houston, Tx just constructed a facility for it and has been open for about a year... also Mass General in Boston, a hospital in Indiana and one in jacksonville florida I think.. also some are currently under construction.////Doctors have been slow to recommend Proton Radiation. They felt or feel it is still experimental, dont know about it, or its just a money thing with them.. they dont make money sending patients elsewhere for treatments.. Dont let some doctor talk your brother into what ever treatments they do until he checks out all of his options.. Id be willing to bet no doctor has mentioned Proton Radiation to him.. The odd thing is though that when I was in California getting my treatments, there sure were lots of doctors and other medical professionals there being treated for prostate cancer with proton radiation.... If you read the Patient testimonial section of Proton Bob you will see what I am talking about.. there are now testimonials there from doctors...... It made believers out of them after they had treatments..Also when I was there, there were several men being treated who had the seed implants and who had radical surgery and it had not worked.. If you or your brother have any questions about my experience with prostate cancer or the proton radiation treatments, please feel free to email me here on yahoo answers.. I will also be willing to call either of you on the phone and discuss it.. most any of us who have had proton treatments are the same way..we just hate to see any one have the treatments that has all the side effects when there is such a good option available with no side effects and as good if not better cure rate.. Most people who have Proton Radiaton are cured.. my PSA is now .13 thats point one three../...hope i have or can help.. I wrote this in a hurry and there is lots of it.. so im not checking my spelling and typos.. hope you can make sense of it. Also the Proton Bob website tells all the places where the treatment is available... I think the book I mentioned can be purchased there too.. not sure though.. Ill be glad to send your brother my book if you will email me his address..

If someone masturbates once a week, will he have increased chance of getting prostate cancer or enlargement

If someone masturbates once a week, will he have increased chance of getting prostate cancer or enlargement?
Yes or no?
Men's Health - 8 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
no.
2 :
if the answer was yes, would it change your behaviour?
3 :
no , its too bore
4 :
By correlation, not definite causation, I believe so. Most men do what you're talking about, and most men have enlarged prostates by a certain age. I believe the chaste life would keep the prostate small. I need to see more figures on this, but it's a deductive hunch.
5 :
of course not! But you should try and find a girfriend in order to enjoy it more!!
6 :
Once every month would be OK, though I doubt if a person could hold out that long. Your safety net is nocturnal emissions which will automatically occur when your sexual tension reaches a certain point, men are more likely to get prostate trouble from bad eating habits and excessive alcohol or a degenerative disease rather than from periodic sex.
7 :
I don't know about enlargement - that comes to everyone, sooner or later. There is some reason to think it reduces the chance of prostate cancer, but this is not well established.
8 :
Prostate cancer and an enlarged prostate are something that just come with age. Studies show that diet can prevent these things from happening, but who knows.
