I used to offer life insurance, they like to see a five year cancer free time period. Go to an independant agent who has access to numerous companies. Each life insurance company has different underwriting guidlines.

Prostate cancer = no masturbation

prostate cancer = no masturbation?
One of the answers said frequent masturbation will reduce chance of getting prostate cancer. if it's true, how many times should I masturbate to not have prostate cancer later in life? once a day? twice a day? twice a week? 10 times a day? currently i masturbate about twice a day.

probably once a day would be good.

Yes, masturbating regularly will reduce the chances of prostate cancer. There isn't a set amount of times you do it to prevent it, though. I'd recommend starting off once or twice a day (like you're doing) and just keep doing going—make sure you're comfortable doing it and enjoy the feelings you are having; remember, people don't just masturbate to prevent prostate cancer, they do it to pleasure themselves. Do what feels good to you. ~Avriel

I'm not certain that there is any truth in the concept that masturbation prevents prostate cancer. I think more likely that the premise is false. This by reason that you would have to assume that guys who have prostate cancer were also masturbaters. But masturbation wont kill you either. Just don't do it because you think you have to. EDIT: Leitzmann remains cautious. "I don't believe at this point our research would warrant suggesting men should alter their sexual behaviour in order to modify their risk."
4 :
"...in a US study, the group with the highest lifetime average of ejaculation - 21 times per month - were a third less likely to develop the cancer than the reference group, who ejaculated four to seven times a month. "...More than 12 ejaculations per month would start conferring the benefit - on average every second day or so," [Michael Leitzmann, at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland] says." SO , I guess have at it. 21 times a month would be once every day and a half....

Dr. Graham Giles of Australia recommends that younger males masturbate at least six times a week to reduce the likelihood of prostate cancer. He led a team of doctors who found that males who ejaculated most often when they were young had the least incidence of prostate cancer later.

If there is suspicioun of prostate cancer (usually because of a high PSA blood level or an abnormal finding on a digital-rectal exam) the doctor will perform a prostate biopsy. If there is cancer it will show up on this biopsy. There are many options for treatment of prostate cancer. They include surgically removing the prostate, radiation, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, and cryosurgery

Studies suggest that over 40% of men aged 70 and above have 'latent' or hidden prostate cancer....Prostate cancer is a form of cancer that develops in the prostate, a gland in the male reproductive system...The symptoms may be pain, difficulty in urinating, problems during sexual intercourse, or erectile dysfunction..Treatment options for prostate cancer with intent to cure are primarily surgery and radiation therapy and we have many treatment apart from this...

Question about prostate cancer

question about prostate cancer?
my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer and was told he could get surgery is prostate cancer curable or just treated? what is the life expectancy? im really worried and my mother seems very depressed will the surgery cure it? thank u

For all of your answers try this: www.prostatecancerfoundation.org/ If your mom is seriously depressed and it doesn't seem to be getting better, you might want to talk to a social worker at the hospital or some other health care professional about getting her help to deal with things.
2 :
Yes it can be cured. It is natural to be worried and depressed when a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer, but think positive as many men have survived prostate cancer.
3 :
Sorry to hear about your father. Prostate cancer is curable if caught early .The surgery will remove the gland and if it hasn't spread he can look forward to a long life. Sometime they use other treatments like radioactive seeds instead, but that will be up to the doctor and your Dad.
4 :
I am old enough to be your dad probably and the hard answer is - there is no "cure" for cancer. It can be held in check and treated, removed, etc. and possibly it will never come back. It's just that the word "cure" isn't used. If your dad is having surgery for it I bet things will go at least as well as they have for me. I was operated on over four years ago and up til now there has been no sign of it coming back. I follow my doctor's orders and get tested every six months with a simple blood test called a PSA and like I said, so far so good. Your parents and probably even you are naturally going to worry and believe me, it is perfectly okay! As far as life expectancy? I hope to live out my normal life and I'm doing my best to do just that. Keep your chin up and be there to help your dad AND your mom get through this hard time. Best of luck to all of you and I'll say a prayer for y'all tonight.
5 :
Yes. The surgery can be effective. However, the prostrate can be treated in early stages. Good Luck
6 :
A lot depends on what stage the cancer is in. I suggest you google Loma Linda Proton and read the information about Loma Linda University Medical Center. I'm in Loma Linda now receiving treatment and it is a wonderful hospital. My feeling is that Proton radiation is a lot better than surgery in most cases.
