Why are black men more likely to get prostate cancer?
anyone have the scientific reason for this. how does skin colour effect our insides other than vitamin d production. why are we pre disposed to it

The incidence of prostate cancer is directly related to testosterone levels (this is the primary male sex hormone). Blacks produce the most testosterone, asians produce the least.

Leading Urologist Patrick Walsh says that black men get more aggressive forms of the disease, are more likely to have it come back after treatment, and are more likely to die from it than white men. He says the reason why is not known for certain, but it may be because of genetic predisposition (just as we know that family history of the disease matters), diet, and as you mention, inadequate vitamin D. There may be socioeconomic factors at play as well--less access to quality health care, not being screened early enough, etc. There are educational campaigns within the African-American community trying to address these issues.
