Well for one, prostate cancer is much easier to diagnose and treat and cure than breast cancer. Prostate cancer can be detected by having a yearly blood test done to detect it. There is no such test for breast cancer. There are at least 2 or 3 very effective treatments for prostate cancer. Breast cancer is much more difficult to treat.

While Dr House and Andee are correct in their answers, I would also like to add that much of the support for breast cancer has come about through hard work and lobbying by breast cancer survivors and families and friends of those diagnosed. Men being pro-active about promoting prostate cancer research and awareness is the way to bring the two back into balance.
