What is prostate cancer? Prostate cancer is a malignant (cancerous) tumor (growth) that consists of cells from the prostate gland. The tumor usually grows slowly and remains confined to the gland for many years. During this time, the tumor produces little or no symptoms or outward signs (abnormalities on physical examination). As the cancer advances, however, it can spread beyond the prostate into the surrounding tissues (local spread). Moreover, the cancer also can metastasize (spread even farther) throughout other areas of the body, such as the bones, lungs, and liver. Symptoms and signs, therefore, are more often associated with advanced prostate cancer. http://www.medicinenet.com/prostate_cancer/article.htm

Prostate cancer can affect anyone at any age. Blood during defecation should always be checked out, as colon cancer can also be a factor. If there is a tumor or a lump in there it could very well be the cause of the blood. A little bit of blood is normal if your stool is really hard, but if it's concerning you, please go and get a physical and bring this up with your doctor immediately. Good luck and take care!

Prostate cancer is so rare in young men that there are no statistics available for the disease incidence in men under 35. It's extremely rare in men under 50; over 80% of men diagnosed with it are over 65 and half of all cases occur in men over 75. No, anal pain and pain during defecation aren't symptoms of prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer is the third most common cause of death from cancer in men of all ages and is the most common cause of death from cancer in men over 75 years old. Prostate cancer is rarely found in men younger than 40. Examination should be done gently and with good lighting. It consists of external inspection, perianal and intrarectal digital palpation, abdominal examination, and rectovaginal bidigital palpation. Anoscopy and rigid or flexible sigmoidoscopy to 15 to 60 cm above the anal verge are often included. Inspection, palpation, and anoscopy and sigmoidoscopy are best done with the patient in the left lateral (Sims') position or inverted on a tilt table. In cases of painful anal lesions, topical ( lidocaine 5% ointment), regional, or even general anesthesia may be required. If it can be tolerated, a cleansing phosphate enema may facilitate sigmoidoscopy. Biopsies, smears, and cultures may be taken, and x‑ray examination ordered if indicated. Consult a gastroenterologist.

My husband was dx with Pca at 42. His physician told him he also has a patient who is only 32 with the disease. I don't think that your symptoms and your age point to prostate cancer, however, I believe that you should seek medical attention. The bleeding could be as simple as a hemorrhoid. It could also be caused by colitis, diverticulitis or a po
