No, cancer is not a transferrable or contagious illness. Cancer occurs when cells in the body mutate due to problems during cell replication/growth; cancer cells cannot "infect" other cells.

Cancer is not contagious. It is caused by abnormal cell growth in the person who has the cancer. There is a genetic link with family though.

No. An example of a "contagious" (viral-caused) cancer is Burkitt's Lymphoma. However, cancer is generally not contagious. Thus, you have nothing to worry about. Bottom line: You cannot contract cancer from your husband, because prostate cancer is not contagious.

No. First of all, you don't have a prostate. Secondly, if any tumor cells make it into your body, they are foreign invaders and your immune system will quickly destroy them. Third, cancer cells are individualized. No need at all to worry.

No, not at all. No type of cancer is contagious, the process occurs in your own body. It happens when the DNA of a cell becomes damaged or changed for some reason thus producing "mutations" that affect normal cell growth and division. When this happens cells don't die when they should and new cells form when the body doesn't need them. It is these "out of control" cells that form a "mass of tissue," a tumor.
