I wouldn’t call $341,000,000 almost none, but it is half that of breast cancer. I’m not sure of the reason, but if I had to guess I’d say it is because the risk of prostate cancer is 1 in 6 and risk of breast cancer is 1 in 8, but the risk of death from prostate cancer is 1 in 34 and the risk of death from breast cancer is 1 in 28. The younger you are the worse the prognosis for both diseases, but it is unheard of for a man in his 30s to get prostate cancer and this is not the case with breast cancer. Many men with prostate cancer choose watchful waiting for their disease and there is no such thing with breast cancer that would mean death. What we have learned from breast cancer research has helped us with other cancers.
